In the vast majority of these cases, the best place for distressed wildlife is with an experienced local wildlife carer. They are licensed and have the facilities to house and provide nursing care for critical wildlife patients, they are also able to seek veterinary care, if they feel it is appropriate to do so. They are the best possible chance our wildlife friends have of being healed and rehabilitated.
Wildlife are extremely sensitive, and veterinary wards are busy and are full of their natural predators. It is a highly stressful environment, and without specialised facilities designed specifically for native wildlife, this stress can overcome them.
