Lost Pet and Strays

It is common for well-meaning members of the public to present us with stray pets that they have found. Unfortunately, these animals are generally very healthy and quite excited, and we simply do not have the facilities to house them. Importantly, they also interfere with the intense care that our very critical patients require.

The best place for any stray or lost animal is with the local council. They not only have the appropriate facilities to house all sorts of pets, but are also the absolute best chance that the animal has of being reunited with their devastated family.

The council is the first place that any pet parent will enquire about their missing pet, so it is important to follow
the proper channels.

If it’s safe to do so, you can confine the animal so that it is in a safe area, away from road traffic and contact your local laws officer to collect the animal and start their journey back home.
